ARS Role:
This project presents many challenges due to the varied uses and construction requirements. The added structure connects to the existing shopping center (San Francisco Centre) with communicating systems between the two existing buildings. The 9-story atrium and historic dome presented a unique set of architectural and compliance issues. Also, the 11-theater complex on the 5th and 6th floors required expert knowledge of exitings and access codes.
Tony Sanchez-Corea, III and his father worked on the original building in the late 1980’s, which added to the company’s ability to assess and evaluate the overall needs of the project, based on in-depth knowledge of existing systems and structures.
ARS’ ability to devise and negotiate viable solutions has been critical to the ongoing success of this project. As construction nears an end, ARS’ president looks upon this project with special pride and a sense of a job well done.
