- Building permits and approvals through planning, building mechanical, Fire, DPW/BSM, Health, SFPUC, Redevelopment Agency
- SFFD: Annual inspection items requiring special permits such as assembly, fuel oil, hazard materials, and generator use permits; permits for special events
- DPW: Street improvement; minor sidewalk encroachment; major sidewalk encroachment; lot subdivision; condo subdivision mapping
- SFPUC: New water and fire service installation
- Urban Forestry: tree planting; tree removal; landscaping

How many sets of drawings do I need to submit to the Building Department?
A minimum of 2 sets of plans are required, reproduced on a minimum size of 11×17, minimum 1/8” scale, and minimum 1/8” lettering. Multiple sets of plans can be required depending on which of the different options of plan check services are chosen.

What is the permit cost based upon?
All permit fees are based on Table 1-A of the California Building Code. Each local jurisdiction has the authority to make adjustments to this fee schedule based on the financial needs of each community.
